What exactly is Daphi?
Daphi is a family assistant built by parents. It's one place — and one chat — for the family calendar, school schedules, your kids' details, shopping lists, notes and invitations. Instead of filling forms, you just tell Daphi what's happening and it organises everything for you.
How does the AI assistant work?
You write (or dictate) naturally: "Tom's dentist is Thursday at 14:30", "add sunscreen to the shopping list", or you send a photo of the school timetable or a flight ticket. Daphi understands, creates the right entries, and confirms what it did. If something's wrong, tell it — it corrects itself.
What can the calendar do?
Recurring activities, school runs per child, school holidays, family events, work trips. You can subscribe to your Daphi calendar from Outlook, Google Calendar or Apple Calendar with a private link, so everything appears where you already look — and updates automatically.
Does Daphi connect to my Google Calendar?
Yes, if you choose to. With your permission, Daphi reads your Google Calendar events (read-only) so your work and personal commitments appear alongside the family calendar and are checked for scheduling clashes. Daphi never edits your Google Calendar, and never sells or shares your data. You can disconnect anytime in Settings.
Can Daphi receive calendar invites by email?
Yes. Your family gets its own address like yourfamily@cal.daphi.ai. Forward any calendar invitation to it — a birthday party, a work dinner, a school meeting — and it appears in your family calendar automatically, including cancellations and updates.
How do invitations and RSVPs work?
For any event, Daphi creates a beautiful private invitation page with a photo, gift ideas and directions. Guests open a link — no app, no account — and RSVP with how many adults and kids are coming, allergies, and an emergency contact for drop-off parties. You see all replies in one place and get notified as they arrive.
Can we chat about an event — with other families, or just within ours?
Both — on two clean, separate lanes. The shared chat brings every family on a shared event together: car-pools, gear, timing, all in one thread, and each person is notified of new messages (never of their own). The family-only thread exists on every event and stays in your household — @mention your partner, agree on your reply; other families and the sender never see it. Unread bubbles are per person, so each family member sees exactly what they haven't read yet.
I coach a team or teach a class — can Daphi run that too?
Yes, and it’s the same app you already use for your family. Flip one setting and you get a Groups tab: football and handball coaches, ballet and dance teachers, art, music and drama classes, swimming and martial arts clubs, scouts, choirs, yoga and pilates studios, language tutors, playgroups, book clubs, adult evening classes — anyone who has to tell the same thing to twenty households every week. You set the weekly time once, Daphi generates every session, and the whole term is there: cancel one week, move another, add the summer break.
How do I reach every family at once?
One button. You write the message once and Daphi delivers it the way each family can actually receive it — in the app for those who use Daphi, by email for those who don’t, and by a private link for the rest. No group chat to manage, no phone numbers to collect, no one left out. Changing a session does both jobs in one gesture: pick the new time or place, and the schedule updates on every family’s calendar and the message explaining it goes out — already written for you.
How do I know who actually saw it?
Because Daphi counts answers, not opens. Every family shows as reached, seen, or answered, so you can tell at a glance who is still silent — and nudge just them, in one tap, instead of writing “did everyone see this?” into the void. Families tell you they can’t make a session and it lands on your register before you arrive. Sign-up sheets (who brings the cake, who drives) fill themselves in. And each family has its own private thread with you, so a question about one child never goes to the other nineteen.
Do the parents have to install anything?
No — and this is the point. Every family gets a private page with no app and no account, ever: the schedule with your changes already on it, your messages, a “can’t attend” button, a reply straight to you, and a one-tap subscribe so the sessions appear in whatever calendar they already use. Families who do have Daphi get the same things inside their family calendar instead. You never have to ask anyone to sign up for anything.
What does it cost to run a group?
Running a group is free. Not a trial — free, for as long as the group is live. We can do that because you bring the families, and some of them will want Daphi for their own household; that is the whole deal, and it means we never need to charge you to reach the people you already teach. Your own family space follows the normal plan if you want one, and the families in your group never pay to receive anything from you.
What does Daphi remember about my kids?
Clothing and shoe sizes, allergies, school and teachers, weekly schedules, birthdays, notes — the small facts you're always asked for at the worst moment. Grandparents buying shoes? The size is one question to Daphi away.
Can I share access with a nanny or grandparents?
Yes — that's the point of the village. Every family member logs in with their own name. Caregivers can get guest access with reduced permissions: they see the schedule and the practical things, while your private notes and lists stay private.
Which devices does it work on?
Every device with a browser — iPhone, Android, tablet, computer. Add it to your phone's home screen and it works like a native app, with push reminders. Everything stays in sync across all devices, instantly.
Where is my family's data stored — and is it safe?
Your family's data lives in its own password-protected space on professional cloud infrastructure, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany) —, with every connection encrypted (TLS), data encrypted at rest, and automatic disk snapshots. It is never analysed, sold, or used for advertising. When you use the assistant, only the information needed to answer is processed by our AI provider — and it is not used to train AI models. Your family's data is and stays yours.
What does it cost?
One subscription covers your whole family — no per-person fees. It’s CHF/€ 12.90 a month, or less if you pay ahead: CHF/€ 59.40 for 6 months (works out to 9.90 / month) or CHF/€ 99.00 for a year (8.25 / month). Your first 30 days are free. You choose your plan and manage everything — change or cancel anytime — from your family space at daphi.ai on a computer. In the iPhone and Android apps, store pricing may differ slightly by country. No ads, ever.
Is there an iPhone / Android app?
Daphi already lives on your phone: open daphi.ai in your browser and add it to your home screen — it works like an app, notifications included. Native iPhone and Android apps are coming soon; your family space will carry straight over.
How do I get started?
Create your family space — it takes about 5 minutes, and the assistant guides you through it. No stress if you don't have every detail at hand: everything can be adjusted later.
